Red

There is a lot of "red" around here lately:

  • Hayden's nose-the poor kid had a fever for a few days followed by an awful cold.
  • My new red apron from my mother-in-law (that kick started the bake off, Addie got one too)
  • Dina's sweater and her magic powder puffs (aka flour).
  • Addie's shiny red lips-compliments to her new lip gloss from Grammy.
  • Logan's Transformer-Mudflap that he carried around with him ALL DAY LONG (along with the 5 others in his hand).
  • The football games playing today-there was a hint of red in the Falcon's uniform.
  • Pizza compliments of Pop Fred-the Cranberry Beer too...
  • Saw III's horrific sites of blood in almost every scene (I can't avoid noticing, we're in the same room). This is not holidayish.
  • "Ellison's" Wild Cherry Pepsi.
  • The red auto focus circle on my new camera (hence the Rudolph photo I took with it sporting some red himself).
Today was a lot fun. We hosted the annual cookie making this year. My mom, Deaner, and Addie spent a good part of the afternoon measuring, mixing, rotating, decorating, and eating cookies. Mark, Ellis and my father along with the boys were in and out all day sampling.  My mother in law stopped over for part of the day to help out and brought Addie and I aprons. This may seem classic, but super exciting for me, since it is my FIRST apron and I'll admit it was so much fun wiping my hands on it-even purposly! Even Auntie Dina had hers. Sadly-Grammy needs to be brought into the group (perhaps embroidered one for all of us next year). Addie did the same-she had a mean mix of flour and mint flavored sprinkles going on. Every now and again everyone showed their true colors with feeling a bit overstimulated-but I give this event an A+! My father however-was big time disappointed when he saw the cookies being divided up and deducted from his stash. Luckily my mother reassured him and told him she would make more-to add to the 5 tins she brought home! A thoughtful gesture since the cookie wardon tends to lean a bit on the evil side. This year she may have only thrown 45 cookie balls back into the bowl!

Merry Christmas...it's so close I can taste it!

Unboxing

So in a few days...this will be me.

(Minus the 18-200mm lens-insert 18-105mm lens. No hard feelings-well maybe a little, but I had to cut off my greed somewhere)

Snow!

The first snow for this winter season. The kids had been itching to go out in the snow since it started snowing yesterday afternoon. The wait was sure worth it.

Just about 2 inches of fluffy goodness.
