I Know What You're Gonna Say...
-Ruben Studdard's really Danielle!
-Just ask your good friend God!
-And if you're Mark answering this question-you'd say "just make the decision already what's the debating all about?"
Several things have me posting about this-I just wrote Kelli asking her to help me to make a decision. Then I went onto my blog visiting frenzy and came across Moms 4 Life blog in which she was asking for her fellow bloggers to vote on some items she is thinking of carrying in her online store AND I hear this song playing on her blog!!
Now that the stage is sort of set-sometime ago my sister and I have had this conversation: Why are we so indecisive? Our whole family is this way, with some of us worse than others at times! I can defend us for a short time by saying-well with every decision it seems that the selection of options are beyond researchable! (Ha is that even a word! It isn't- but I need to keep it!) There isn't enough man-hours to sit down and weigh out the pros and cons about every stinkin' detail. And most retailers have a field day with you on this, not to mention the merchandisers who plan the layouts for you! My husband has been in retail for years-you think we would know all those secrets and avoid them like the plague...but we fall often for them, even him!
But this post is not so much about the retail dilemmas as it is about my serious condition on not always being great at "the process" of making the decisions! Since my blog has started I have been "venting" about all these grandiose ideas of how I want to improve my life and share my stories on how I either accomplish that or mess it up some more. Mark gets real with me on occasion-and tells me that I write a pretty good line but don't always live it. Ouch-right! But it's true. I'm guilty of giving a lot of great advise, even to myself, but the follow through is sometimes, ah not so good. I don't consider myself a failure-but a work in progress. I am usually too hard on myself, I don't give myself enough credit at times either. Nor enough to Mark. I can sum this up-our intentions are well so please give us some grace. Grace should be sufficient right?
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (II Corinthians 12:9). I've read it enough times to have it memorized and I can even quote it in those moments of weakness if I can get myself focused enough. So I "suppose" (see I can't be firm on it) we just need to find peace in His word right?! I'm interpreting that verse with the very thought that we need to have indecisiveness in order to receive His strength to rise above that feeling of "not good enough" or facing the tide that "a bad decision will come to be regretful". Because that is
not what the verse says.
I feel powerful knowing that God is my steering wheel (not my spare tire)-that he is guiding me to make the best decisions and face those not so good decisions with lessons learned.
