Since marrying Mark, I have come to love "Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas". So now, in our house, the kids (and us) enjoy it as a holiday favorite. I came across the song on You Tube-and thought I'd share. It's really a cute movie. You should check it out!

Guide us to Peace, Good Will, Genorosity and Love with Your Light
We need to be reminded of what Santa should be bringing on Christmas! So much hoopla (love that word)and hype around the materialistic meaning of Christmas. While it's fun to have Santa come, society has shoved the true meaning away from the focus and importance of Christmas Day.
So this month, I vow to teach the kids through a unit study approach, what Christmas is all about. I recently searched and found a cute site (www.llerrah.com/truemeaningofchristmas.htm) that keeps this simple. In honor of one symbol, I made a wreath for our front door.

"Once again Santa reached into his bag and removed a WREATH and placed it on the tree. "Teach the children that the wreath symbolizes the real nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one continuous round of affection." "

Picture This
Imagine getting all three kids to sit, look and pose for a picture for our Christmas card! Lets just say we are still working on it. Well we are offically kicking December off with some pictures of the last few days.

And yes, we cut down our Christmas tree despite our progress we felt we were making by going "green". We did go to a local tree farm though...
